Living with Gout
For years Donna suffered from painful and crippling gout attacks. Gout is one of the most painful forms of arthritis and 56 million people suffer from it. Knowing that it ran through her family on her mother's side, she initially thought it was just a genetic issue that would have to be dealt with as best could be managed using the standard medical recommendations. Year after year, the attacks kept happening, getting more frequent and much more painful. Following the standard medical recommendations to eat a low purine diet didn't work for her. As the years progressed, even the normally helpful things like drinking tart cherry juice lost their effectiveness. During a period of 18 months, Donna spent 18 of those weeks crippled from excruciating gout pain and inflammation. An active skier, Donna had taken a bad fall the previous February, and injured her entire leg. A month later, just as she was able to stop using the knee scooter and progress to only a cane, she had a bad gout attack in her uninjured foot. Despite carefully sticking to a low purine diet and even fasting for 9 days, her gout inflammation kept her crippled for a month. Fast forward to October of that year and she was hit with another gout attack that lasted 6 weeks and was just as painful as the last one. After only 2 weeks of being pain free, a 3rd gout attack hit her. After hours and days and weeks of searching to find the cause of what was triggering the painful gout attacks, she finally found the answer! It has truly been life changing for her and she wrote this book to share this knowledge with others, to help them find relief from pain just as she has.
After finding the true cause of her gout, Donna's pain and inflammation disappeared in ONLY 5 days! Within the month she went from crutches to being able to snow ski for 6 hours without even a rest break! The change was absolutely AMAZING! All the joint aches and back stiffness that she had thought was from aging were completely gone!
